August has so far been a very successful month for Team Visma | Lease a Bike: Riders of both the Men's and the Women's Team were able to shine at the Tour de Femmes, the Tour de Pologne and the Vuelta a Espana.
Jonas Vingegaard was able to confirm his role as favorite at the Tour de Pologne and take a pleasing victory in the overall classification, with Wilco Keldermann also finishing on the podium. The two mountain specialists were able to carry their strong form from the Tour de France into the Tour of Poland and dominate the race together. In addition, 22-year-old young star Olav Kooij won the 4th stage in Prudnik and the final 7th stage in Krakow, scoring valuable points for himself and the team in the overall UCI rankings.
Even if the hopes of the Visma | Lease a Bike Women's team for a decisive role in the overall classification were not fulfilled, the Grand Tour still ended successfully: Star rider Marianne Vos was able to win the sprinter's green jersey again in an impressive team and individual performance. The former world champion said herself: “It's a great honor to win the green jersey. [...] It makes me incredibly happy and proud.”
The Vuelta a España, the third and final Grand Tour of 2024, is in full swing and Team Visma | Lease a Bike has already been able to secure multiple stage wins: All-rounder Wout van Aert is back in top form after his serious injury in the Spring Classics and was able to win stage 3, stage 7 and stage 10 - as well as collecting three 2nd places. As a result, the Belgian not only spent two days in the coveted red jersey, but is also the wearer of the green sprint jersey. Lease a Bike wishes the riders of the team - especially last year's winner and mountain specialist Sepp Kuss, who will try to shine in the more mountainous stages of the coming weeks - continued success!
Just a few months after the serious injuries of Jonas Vingegaard and Wout van Aert, Team Visma | Lease a Bike returned to top form at the Tour de France 2024, winning a stage and finishing second overall. The documentary “Inside the Beehive” shows the challenges of the world's biggest cycling race up close.
In addition to the Pon brands Cervelo and Skoda, Lease a Bike will also be on the list of sponsors of the Jumbo-Visma team from January 1, 2023. This means that Lease a Bike will be seen on the jerseys of Wout van Aert, Jonas Vingegaard and Marianne Vos, among others, throughout the 2023 cycling season. Of course, the connection between Lease a Bike and Team Jumbo-Visma is quickly made: the bike! But we don't just see the bike as a means to get from A to B, it is rather a way to do good for your health, your wallet and the environment.
The former Team Jumbo-Visma, which had a historic season with victories in all three grand tours, will continue as Team Visma | Lease a Bike from January 1, 2024. Visma and Lease a Bike have both signed a contract as title sponsors for an indefinite period.
There are few bigger stages in cycling than the Tour de France, and we at Lease a Bike are proud to support Team Visma | Lease a Bike at this event. The team's participation in this year's Tour de France is particularly exciting, not least because of the impressive performances and the rousing atmosphere that our colleagues Tobias Macke and Dennis Langlets were able to experience live on site.
