A new study by DEKRA and the market research institute Ipsos shows that many cyclists in Germany perceive road traffic as unsafe. Especially in cities, many people feel uneasy, which often turns cycling into a tense affair. According to the survey, 41% of respondents feel unsafe or even very unsafe in urban traffic - a figure that has actually risen slightly since the last survey. On country roads, 34 percent of cyclists also feel very unsafe. Many see the inadequate cycling infrastructure as the main problem.
