Cloppenburg, Mönchengladbach June 2022. Lease a Bike has been the official business club partner of Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach since the 2021/22 season. Since then, the club's employees have been able to choose their dream bike and use it both for commuting to work and for leisure. In the course of the last season, 40 employees have already opted for a new bike and thus also for sustainable mobility. In this way, the association, in cooperation with Lease a Bike, is making an important contribution to environmental protection.
Through the bike leasing concept of Lease a Bike, Borussia Mönchengladbach can also take an important step towards meeting the new climate protection requirements of the German Football League. New sustainability criteria were only published in May 2022, which every club must fulfil. All clubs will be obliged to develop a sustainability and environmental strategy so that football can also make its contribution to climate protection. An important aspect is, for example, a mobility and traffic analysis. Lease a Bike can support its partners in this task in particular with the concept of company bike leasing and develop a sustainable strategy. A company bike not only saves climate-damaging emissions compared to a car, but also reduces noise and traffic jams and does not require large parking areas. This makes the way to work or to the stadium much more relaxed. Thanks to the Lease a Bike service bike leasing concept, Borussia Mönchengladbach will be able to further promote green mobility at the club for the new 2022/23 season. The Bundesliga is thus becoming greener bit by bit.
